Coexistence Trust trustee Baroness Dr Ruth Deech (pictured) has campaigned for change in the way the criminal justice system deals with minors.

During a debate in the Lords, justice minister Lord Tom McNally said that he will pass her concerns on to the Ministry of Justice for consideration.

The government has agreed to examine the legal process for young defendants and witnesses following concerns raised over the case of two 10-year-olds boys convicted of attempting to rape an eight-year-old girl.
