CAMPUS AMBASSADORS
Campus Ambassadors - what is it?
Do you believe that Muslim and Jewish students can develop a better understanding of each others’ faiths and learn from each other? If so, the Campus Ambassadors programme – organised by the Coexistence Trust – could be for you.
We are looking for innovative personalities who are active on campus to set up projects to fostering collaborative partnerships between these communities.
As an Ambassador you will receive a comprehensive programme of support and training, giving you the skills and tools to design, implement and sustain social action projects.
We will also coach students to shape their personal leadership vision, through a combination of group learning, one-on-one training and personalised mentoring.
How does it work?
Ambassadors will have the opportunity to “pitch” their project ideas, ‘Apprentice-style’, to a panel of potential investors in order to win funding for their project.
Each Ambassador will receive personalised, one-on-one mentoring from a member of the Coexistence Trust team and other leading professionals in the not-for-profit sector.
They will work on a personal development progression plan to focus on achieving learning goals. We are running the programme in 12 universities that will comprises of six modules from January to December, including a weekend retreat which run alongside students formal university studies.

Why are we running this programme?
We feel that there is a great wealth of talent among Britain’s Muslim and Jewish students and we seek to help them channel and develop their skills. In doing so they will not only achieve personal goals, but also will develop transferrable skills that they can take with them into the world of work after university.
We strongly believe that a climate of inclusion and mutual respect between student societies is fundamental to enabling the open and free exchange of ideas integral to the university experience.
We hope for our Ambassadors to be role models and change-agents in encouraging inter-communal collaboration. After the completion of the programme our Ambassadors will enter our Alumni network.
This alumni network will facilitate internships, jobs and volunteer work in community-facing organisations and may be invited to help recruit for subsequent Campus Ambassador cohorts.
